How to Support Your Local Farmers’ Market

There are dozens of farmers’ markets in Arizona that are back in operation as we begin to better understand COVID-19—and even more small farmers that (that many of us) are looking for support as they grapple with changes the pandemic has brought.

If you are interested and able to support your local farmers’ market, fall is a great time to jump back into the routine, with the bountiful harvests fall brings. Some markets also accept SNAP and AZFMNP too. Not only are you contributing to a small business, but it’s an excellent opportunity to “eat local,” incorporate more veggies into your cooking and connect with your community, though it may look different from it did last year.

If you are not comfortable browsing in person, some markets are also offering pre-order and pick up—something that has rarely been done before.
